Board of Directors search

Main Street Paris is seeking five (5) new Board Directors to serve a three (3) year term beginning December 2023. If you are passionate about serving downtown Paris and committed to seeing it grow, we'd like to invite you to nominate yourself.

Collectively, the Board of Directors assumes legal and philosophical responsibility, and establishes policy for all activities of Main Street Paris. The Board of Directors provide leadership for the organization, raise operating and capital funds, participate in committee assignments, and serve as advocates of downtown revitalization.

Directors should demonstrate interest in the organization’s purpose and goals, and have specific experience in or knowledge of administration, finance, program development, advertising, public relations, downtown business activity, communications, design, event management or economic development.

Tasks and Requirements:

• Attend a half-day Board Member Orientation
• Attend the monthly Board of Directors meetings, missing no more than three meetings per year. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30pm in downtown Paris.
• Serve on at least one (1) committee - 
  • Executive Committee
  • Organization Committee
  • Promotion Committee
  • Design Committee
  • Economic Vitality Committee
• Oversee planning and fiscal control for the organization
• Ensure that objectives and activities are consistent with the organization’s mission
• Review the work plans and budget to evaluate effectiveness
• Advocate for Main Street Paris
• Have an ability and willingness to raise monies for operation of the organization
• Attend Arkansas Heritage events and workshops
• Accept board leadership responsibilities as appropriate​
