Union Bank Park

A new gathering place. Rooted in history. Built for community.

Located on the northeast corner of our historic square is our latest project, Union Bank Park. Union Bank Park is becoming a vibrant public space where people can gather, relax, celebrate, and connect in the heart of downtown Paris, Arkansas. This project is about more than bricks and benches - it’s about creating a shared place that reflects who we are and where we’re going.

The Vision

Planned features include:

  • Large mural celebrating our heritage as a coal-mining town

  • Metal art crafted by local high school students through their award-winning FFA program

  • Stone train sculpture crafted by a master mason with flexible seating integration

  • Intentional, natural green spaces

  • Legacy bricks engraved to celebrate community members past and present

Why it Matters

Downtown parks do more than beautify a space. They strengthen local businesses, encourage foot traffic, and create opportunities for connection. Union Bank Park will:

  • Support downtown economic vitality

  • Provide a safe, inclusive space for community gathering

  • Preserve and celebrate downtown’s historic character

  • Create a lasting legacy for future generations

Where We Started and Where We Are Now

What was once an underutilized property is being thoughtfully transformed into a park designed for people. Early conversations focused on listening and gathering ideas from community members about what this space could become.

Thanks to community support and early investments, the project is actively moving forward. We have purchased the land, had professional design renderings completed, and completed the first full phase of construction.

Momentum for Union Bank Park has continued with the award of a $41,000 T-Mobile Hometown Grant, providing critical funding to support the next phase of design and development. Main Street Paris is looking forward to a late Spring 2026 project completion date.
